Mr. Joseph Carl Dudley, Sr., 81, husband of Barbara Linder, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 17, 2016. The relatives and friends of Joseph C. Dudley, Sr. are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 3:00 PM Friday, January 22, 2016, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. A native of Charleston, SC, Joe was a son of the late Agnes Driggers and James J. Dudley. He started his career with SCE&G as a Meter Reader, and later entered Sales and Finance with Montgomery Ward and later Haverty's. After retirement, he served as a Bailiff at the Charleston County Courthouse. A loving family man, Mr. Dudley was very supportive of all his family. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping. He loved dancing, and during a wedding reception, he was introduced to and danced with his future wife, Barbara Linder. Mr. Dudley will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by 13 children, 33 Grandchildren, 40 Great-grandchildren, and 1 Great-great-grandchild; and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian B. Dudley, 4 Brothers, and 2 Sisters.

Mr. Joe was a great person and I enjoyed many conversations we had together as patients in Pulmonary Rehab in the Offices of Dr. Robert L. Thomas in Walterboro, S. C.

Uncle Carl may he rest in peace. He loved his family and he loved life itself. He will be sadly missed by many, many people. He never new a stranger could talk to anyone he was an amazing man. We were all blessed to know him as he impacted so many life's.

My sincere condolences for your loss. It was a pleasure working with Joe at Havertys. He was a big morale booster always looking for a way to approve our sales that required financing. He was a fine man.
