Dear Gen, Tommy and Joe,

We were saddened to hear of Joe's passing.

My father, Domenick and mother Helen, never had a better friends than the Elko's. Joe and dad served our country proudly in World War II and their admiration for each other was superior.

Know that we, in Rhode Island are thinking of your family and extend to you the peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Joe's passing. I have many cherished childhood memories of when our families came together for summer fun. Our trips to NJ were epic. Dad could not have chosen a better friend, both during the war, and for the rest of his life thereafter. We are sorry we cannot be with you during your time of sadness. Our condolences to the whole family. Uncle Joe will be remembered with love. May time help to heal your heart.
