Not sure what to say?

I grew up on Hall Avenue, two doors from the Ellis Family. They were wonderful neighbors, and my family has many fond memories. Joe was one year older than me, and I kinda looked up to him and Henry Wells, across the street. Joes sister Carla was my first girlfriend, so Nell and Dud had to chaporone us. Joe excelled at everything, Scouts, School, Higher Ed, and was a Wonder Boy at Alabama Power Company. I couldn´t have found a better example to look up to. Hey, Joe was one of the Good Ones,...

May God be with the Ellis family during this time of deep sorrow. Sympathy and condolences to the family. MHS, Auburn, BS '64.

Joe was my first "hayride date"... Tri Hi Y at Homewood Junior High . Lucky we didn't have allergies.

Joe was like a second brother to me. We lived across the street from each other until we graduated from high school. His sister, Carla, was my best friend from elementary school through high school. He will be dearly missed.

Joe was one of the nicest human beings on the planet. I have followed his FB postings for several years. Noticed a drop off recently. So sorry for his family´s loss. He was a great guy who loved his family. Another great one gone from our class.

Jane and and Jody, I am so sorry to hear this news. Please know that George and I are thinking of you with prayer.

I believe our parents were friends. My dad was an usher with yours at OLS. Carla and I went to dance together. Sorry to hear of your loss. Lorraine S Holt.

Joe was a good friend and neighbor in Nesbit Lake in Alpharetta. I will remember him as always the same "Joe"...always positive, happy, helpful, friendly, kind and willing to lend a hand. Jody and Jane I am so sorry to hear of his passing and will keep you both in my prayers.

Joe was my big brother when I first pledged. He was very kind to a young freshman. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. God bless him and his family.
