Joseph Epstein

Joe Epstein - my mentor. To the man who is mostly responsible for the successes and scientific fulfillment I have enjoyed during my federal career. It was Joe's guidance and encouragement that enabled me to make it to the days of my own retirement. From a young, green Lieutenant to a position to try to fill his shoes - he is remembered fondly all the way.

My regret is that I did not stay in touch to the extent that I should have.

To my Uncle Joe -- for your steady, gentle ways and forever your kindness...
