MATTOON - Joseph W. Eveland, 27, of Mattoon, pronounced dead at 12:48 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012 in the Emergency Room at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Funeral services honoring his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Schilling Funeral Home in Mattoon. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm. Burial with military rites will follow at Dodge Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be sent "in care of " First National Bank, 511 Lakeland Blvd. Mattoon IL 61938. Checks may be made to the Jordan and Chloe Eveland College Fund. Schilling funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Joe was born September 18, 1984 in Mattoon, the son of Timothy Ritter and Rhonda Eveland. He married April May Nadolny on April 17, 2010. He is survived by April May Eveland, sons Jordan Lee Eveland and Cayden Hayes-Thompson and daughter Chloe May Eveland all of Mattoon, three sisters Tara Malke and husband Mike of LaMesa CA, Jessica Young and husband Jay of Tribune, KS and Rachal Ritter of Mattoon, grand parents Jim Haney and wife Sue, John Eveland and wife Janie and Larry Ritter and wife Judy all of Mattoon; stepmother Angie Ritter of Mattoon, Step-sister Mandy Arena and husband Nick of Mattoon; Mother-in-law Angela Nadolny and father-in-law Ron Hayes; 5 nephews and 4 nieces. Joe was was a member of the Illinois National Guard and the American Legion. He served a tour in Afghanistan. Joe was awarded the following medals for his Military Service: Army Commendation Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, The Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and The Army Physical Fitness Badge.

I miss you like crazy! I just wish this was all a horrible nightmare and you would walk thru that door! The kids and I miss you and love you so much! Until we meet again, stay with us my love!

I think about you every second of everyday, we miss you so much, this all still does not seem to be real. I think i tell myself your deployed and on missions to get threw the day and be strong for you and the kids. But then there are those days it hits me and I know and I hate it, I'm so angry and have to put on the smiley face for the kids I just want you home for us I do not understand. We miss you so much Joe Love you forever and always! Be with us everyday my love.
