Not sure what to say?

We knew Fr. Joe when he served at Sacred Heart Parish in Mt. Pleasant. My daughter and I considered him a good friend and over the years there were cards, visits and molasses cookies my daughter made for him. Fr. Joe was a friend and mentor to her when she was a student at Sacred Heart.

Some of our favorite memories are visiting him in Saginaw when he lived with his sister. Visits always ended with a trip to Bill Knapps. What a loss when they took away that favorite...

My deepest sympathy to Father's family. He was a friend to my Mom Jennie Civello going back to their childhood.Father gave my Mother her last communion at the 5:30PM Mass at St.Christopher & she later passed away that same evening.Mom use to tell us Father had to stop attending the Altar Society meeting because the women argue to much.Father also baptized my 4 children and yes at St.Christoper's. He was a wonderful priest & human being. He is truly home.

Fran, we want you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I remember Fr. Favara fondly as a young priest who heard my first confession when I made my first communion in 1955 at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Saginaw. I send my deepest sympathy to all his family.

My condolences go to the family of Fr. Favara. His long life has been a blessing to our diocese that we all can celebrate. At St. Joseph Parish in St. Louis Father was my family's friend. Through him I met and spent happy times with his niece Mary Ellen (Doman). And so my special greetings and sympathy go to Mary Ellen. I remember both Father Favara and her very fondly.
Sincerely, Jane (McBride) Brown

Sorry to hear the loss of Fr Joe. I had the opportunity of severing on several committees and organiztions with him when in Bay City attending Visitation church.

I remember being an altar boy in the early eighties, can remember his thoughts that always made me a true believer in god, I will surely miss him and will never forget the blessings he gave me and made me the believer that I am this day!
