Not sure what to say?

Terri & Family,

So sorry for your loss. He sounds like such a wonderful man. All of us at Visitation are sending you love and comfort in our every prayer.

Molly Van Guilder

May the soul of Joseph rest in peace. I go back to the late 30's when Joe & Paul lived a few doors east of my aunts, the Diederichs,on Ashland Avenue. I am a graduate of St. Thomas Academy class of 1946. I believe Joe was in the service so,I knew Paul better as he was closer to me in age. Both the Finley boys were good guys. My brother Alan got to know Joe in his later years.

Lil and Family,
Sorry we couldn't be with you this afternoon. Mother Nature is providing an "old fashioned" winter. I tried it this morning as I had planned on picking up my sister Jane and my Mom in Franklin after mass. Our roads were like driving on a lake. I am so glad we got together for coffee in June when I brought Mom in for her Saint Catherine's reunion. You and your family are in our prayers. You have such wonderful memories and to think that he and Frank can now get...

Joe, Good night, sweet prince.
May choirs of angels sing you to your peace.

Shakespeare's farewell to Hamlet and ours to Joe.

I did not know Joe personally but my uncle and aunt Edgar and Adalyn Vaughan were very close friends and I heard them speak fondly of the finley family and they were god parents to one of the children. My uncle Edgar Vaughan was an attorney at Doherty, Rumble and Butler. I know how kind the finleys were and how my uncle and aunt loved them.

Dear Lil, Becky, and the rest of the Finley family,

My condolences on your loss. Joe was truly a great guy, and I'll miss him.

It was always delight to visit with him. He had a joke for nearly every situation, and a WWII or other tale to fit the rest. He saw the good in everyone. I and Becky's other friends loved hanging out at Finley Manor during high school and college, mainly because talking to Joe and Lil was such fun. We always got a warm welcome, a great story or two,...

Aunt Lilian and family,
Mother, Tina and I are in Arizona and have heard of Uncle Joe's passing. Please know we are thinking of you at this time and trusting that the memories that you have as a family will bring you comfort and joy.
love,
Louise, Cindy & Tina
