Joseph Flummerfelt occupied the office next to mine for 35 years. A musician of greatness and a man of integrity and humanity. He may have been Conductor of the Year, but he was a Human Being of Grace (in both senses), Humanity, and Saintliness for the Ages. I don't cry, but I made an exception.

The music world has lost a magical soul ...the heavens have gained a glorious soul...may we all reunite one day in the Heavenly Choir, led by Dr. Flummerfelt, of course.
My heartfelt condolences and prayers to his dear family at the sorrowful time of loss.

I had the privilege of working closely with Joe as his accompanist. It was a beautiful experience to make music under his direction and I am grateful that I was able to accompany him during his final years at WCC. He always listened to the piano during rehearsals and acknowledged what I was doing. We enjoyed many pasta suppers, cooked by my husband Jo, in our house after Westminster Choir rehearsals. My sympathy to you, Pam, Carol, and Kent on the loss of your brother.

To the family of Joseph Flumerfelt, so sorry for your loss. May God's promise found in John 6:40, of the hope to see our loved ones again, comfort your heart and give you peace, strength, and hope in the days ahead.
