Not sure what to say?

I was just in Lexington with Steve Reed, Wayne McIlwraith and many other friends of Joe's from the equine surgery and medicine worlds. We were reflecting the important role of Joe and the team at Illinois Equine played in stimulating curiosity and dedication to our equine profession for so many of us. We remember you often and fondly Joe.

I just heard of Joe's passing, 4/27/18. I am so sorry, Kim. He touched so many lives. You are in my prayers as are the children. What a great loss, and what a great person. I am one who was blessed to be able to grow up with him, learn from him, have him for my vet, and then do 24/7 medical surgical intern work for him and Dr Phillips, and all, at Illinois Equine Clinic & Hospital.
I am honored to be the one to have set the plates and held them for him as he took the X-Ray plates...

I'm so sorry Kim.....didn't even know. Jeff told me tonight when I had been thinking of the both of you and brought up you and Joe. Such a great loss. I was shocked. You are all in my prayers. Such a gentle soul and wonderful human being he was. His accomplishments blow me away. He rarely spoke of all the things that were mentioned in this obit. I will never forget him.
I hope you and the kids are doing well. Again our deepest sympathy and you are in our prayers. Maj and Jeff Williams

Sorry for your loss. We are thinking of your family during this difficult time. Dr. Foerner was kind enough to email us some research information for our Great Dane, which we greatly appreciated.

The FTD Heartfelt Condolences Arrangement

I was fortunate to train with the amazing Joe Foerner in 1991. He was a true pioneer in equine surgery in addition to all of his other talents. He was a kind and very funny man too, never wavering in his support and friendship. He will be missed by many. Lisa Fortier
