Joe was born to the late Louis and Violet Foust on December 19, 1948. Joe proudly dedicated his career in service to Flint as a firefighter for 17 years. He was a member and leader of the Flint Fire Fighters Union Local 352. Prior to his career as a firefighter, Joe worked in various capacities for the City of Flint. He took pride in being a landlord and in providing well-maintained homes to his renters.

Joe enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family. He valued good company, fine food, and quality entertainment. He approached every task with perfection in mind, from the simple things in life like eating a slice of pizza (he always saved the best bite for last) to renovating his houses. Joe was always ready with a helpful tip or a cold drink and an open heart. His homes, in Grand Blanc or Elk Rapids, were welcoming and warm. Joe’s positive influence was felt by everyone who knew him, and he will certainly be missed by all.

Surviving are wife of 37 years, Mary Foust;

My respects from a fellow Flint landlord. Joe did more than his part in saving Flint for the people that live here. I saw his work and the people he gave jobs to. A real patriot. He will be missed in Flint.

Sad to hear of the passing of my old classmate Joe.

Mary and Jackie;
Debbie and I were shocked and saddened to learn of Joe's passing. Yes he was too young to pass away and without sounding trite, he is now in a much better place and for eternity. RIP Joe, see you on the other side. Hope you have the coffee on.
And before I forget, thanks for all you did for your fire brothers and sisters. Thank you for your service.

Very sad to hear of Joe's passing. I appreciated his tolerance and work ethic.
