Read MoreThe first day that Joe was in Vietnam, I helped him haul his gear up the stairs to his area and mentioned how hot and sticky it was and he said "Oh Boy! Is it always this hot?" Yup! And a year later we left Vietnam together, checked out of the Army from Ft. Lewis and went to Seatac Airport and said goodbye with promises to keep in touch. Sadly, it didn't happen.
