Joe Frechette was one of the greatest Americans. I am proud to have called him my friend for so many years. My condolences to his beautiful family.

My name is Wendy Lapides, daughter of Phil and niece of Harvey Lapides. I never had the pleasure of meeting Joe, but I grew up hearing "Joe Frechette Stories" about growing up in New Haven. My father and Harvey, both gone, loved Joe. Please know there are people who continue to fondly remember his legacy.

If you grew up in Miami Shores, you knew of the Frechette Family. Mrs. Frechette and her children at St Rose of Lima or at the Community Center. I knew Mr. Frechette was at the University of Miami and a former FBI agent, I did not know he was a B-17 pilot in WWII. It figures that after retiring from a lifetime of public service, he would volunteer at the church for twenty more years. My condolences to the family of a great old Shores family.

Love you uncle Joe. I will miss your warm embrace, always being there for your faith, family and friends. Everlasting be your memory kiss Auntie Joan and my parents. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant

When I remember Mr. Frechette, I see a man surrounded by his loving family. His family were truly the light of his life, and he revealed it in their shared moments together. Faith was the foundation upon which he lived a very long and rich life. His unwavering Faith, kindness, humility, and dignity are just some of the qualities he passed on to his family. They are his greatest legacy. I consider myself blessed to have had the opportunity to have shared 3 years with him as his caregiver.
