Not sure what to say?

I love this time of year because I get to teach my team what we call "St, John's" and I get to tell my players about Joe Gallagher. He truly was a master teacher/coach whose lessons went well beyond the court. Thanks Joe...love ya Coach....

Carol and Steve, my most sincere and heartfelt condolences on the passing of your Father /Father-In-Law. You were blessed to have him so long. Rest assured that despite no longer being with you physically, I am certain he will be in your hearts and thought eternally. May he rest in peace. Fondly, Joseph P. Hickey (Puck).

The greatest coach in DC sports history. It was an honor, Joe, to play against you.

Joe was a legend. I have so many fond memories of Coach Gallagher. Every time I attended a major function at St. John's he was always there. I want to express my deepest condolences and share in your loss.

I was 10 years old, in George Washington Hospital and a few days into my stay, Joe Gallagher became my roommate - he had been in an auto accident. What I remember was how he talked to me as an adult. Even asked if I liked playing football. When I told him I did, he asked if I was Catholic. When I told him I was Jewish, he said (paraphrasing), "No problem. We have Jewish kids at St. Johns. You can play there." That moment gave me a great feeling of optimism which I still have today. My...
