Only yesterday, I learned of Joe's passing and I am so sorry. I wish I had been able to reconnect with him and meet you.

I met Joe in 1977 in Jacksonville when he played 3rd for the Suns. I had just graduated from high school and was an ardent fan. Joe always took the time to smile and speak to me. To the Gates family:
Time has flown. I can still remember passing the house on 19th Ave. seeing the Gates kids leaving to go to school, Pulaski Middle School & Roosevelt High School. Those were the days. I knew Moose from his sister, Eloris. All of the Gates kids had this beautiful smile and made everyone happy to see each of them. Moose went to school with my sister Donna(Carter)Taylor.
