Joseph J. Geosits
Joseph J. Geosits, 86, of Northampton, passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2013. Born March 29, 1927 in Northampton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Milisits) Geosits. He was the husband of Theresa A. (Wolf) Geosits, with whom he shared over 62 years of marriage. Joe was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corporation, retiring after 45 years. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the submarine U.S.S. Dogfish. He was a lifetime member of Queenship of Mary Church, Sts. Peter & Paul Society, Liederkranz, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714, all in Northampton. He served on the Northampton Zoning Hearing Board. Survivors: Wife; sons, Joseph J. and his wife Rosemary of Coplay, James L. of Northampton; sisters, Rose Frisch of Northampton, Mary Kopach of Nazareth, Christina Deutsch of Macungie; nieces and nephews and Caregiver, Rian Snyder, who is special to Joes family. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 16, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Monday, 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Interment with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Parish Cemetery.
