Not sure what to say?

As neighbors of Joe, we are going to miss chatting with him. He was a pleasure to talk with and enjoyed riding our bikes together. My grandsons will miss not having another chance to visit with him at his place.

When I first met Joe, I had just moved in and took a walk down Turner Lane. One of the horses got out and ran toward me, not knowing what to do Joe yelled out, "Grab that horse". Since I was a city boy, I said to myself, "no way" and Joe came flying by me and caught up...

As the veterinarian who worked with Joe on Turner Lane in Loudonville in the early 70s and who continued to work with him through the development and ensuing operation at Little Farm in Kinderhook, I take great pride in having had him as a mentor in business, a committed owner of race horses and a great friend with whom to share libation. He was a tough businessman inside who allowed those in his presence to rise to new levels while having fun.

My deepest condolences to the Gerrity family, my parents and I loved Joe and Phyllis so much, they were such remarkable people and wonderful friends. I can still see your parents sitting on our living room couch before they would go out to dinner with my parents, always laughing and joking, Joe always wearing his dress, black patent leather shoes. I will never forget Joe's great vision, kindness and generosity to our family always. My love to your family, Jill Leone
