Not sure what to say?

Joe and Robin:

It was with deep sadness that I read of the passing of your father and father-in-law. He was a great hulk of a human being with the soul of a giant. He will be missed by all who knew him.

The family and descendants of Joseph B. Bourgeois, Jr. would like to express our deepest condolences on the loss of Joe Giarrusso. Joe Bourgeois, my grandfather, was one of Joe and Clarence's best friends growing up in the old neighborhood.

Our thoughts are with Clarence, Joe Jr., and the rest of the Giarrusso family.

Joe:

I was saddened to learn of the death of your father. He was a great man. He was an ispiration to me both as a cop and as a political operative. He was the last of a kind. His passing ends the era of the true populist. What you saw is what you got. He was the salt of the earth.

It is now time to start a movement to officially name police headquarters the "Joseph I. Giarrusso, Sr. Building."

Robert, Jordan, Lauren and Brett join me in expressing our deepest sympathy on the loss of your father and grandfather.
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Love, Fran

Dear Friends:
I was saddened to learn of the passing of the "Chief." More than merely the Chief of Police, he was the Chief of Integrity,of Candor on Public Issues (irrepective of the consequences), of Dedication to the City and its citizens (irrespective of their economic or social status) and of the Principles that public service is a public trust and that one's oligations as a fiduciary cannot be tainted by disguised or disclosed self interst. May your fond memories of the Chief...

JOE AND ROBIN
I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR FATHER. HE WAS MUCH LOVED AND BROUGHT A SMILE TO EVERYONE'S FACE WHEN HE WALKED THROUGH THE DOOR AT TULANE ORTHOPAEDIC CLINIC.

ROBIN AND JOE,
"CHIEF" WAS A GIANT OF A PERSON, WITH A CHARACTER TO MATCH. WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIS PASSION FOR LIFE AND HIS COMPASSION FOR OTHERS. MADELINE AND I JOIN THE CHORUS OF WELL WISHERS AS WE OFFER YOU OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS. THANKS FOR SHARING "CHIEF" WITH US.

My family and I are so sorry to hear about your father. It was an honor to have known him and he will be missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Joe, My sincere sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your father. I know how you revered him. (You may recall when we both worked at the U. S. Attorney's Office after the Immigration Court in N.O. closed down where I previously served.) Was, indeed, sorry, learning of your loss.
