It's only by chance that my wife and I were visiting my dad's grave site (who was also a Marine who served in WWII) this past weekend at Concord Presbyterian Church west of Statesville, when we noticed a temporary marker just south of my dad's resting place. What a beautiful message about this amazing man. I was one of the ones who was privileged enough to be in his hiking group and receive one of Joe's hand-made walking sticks. A man that will not be forgotten, he has put an imprint on my heart.
