Not sure what to say?

I worked with Joe for many years while he was at the Federal Reserve Bank. He was respected by all and was an encouragement to all. When the work got tough, Joe would say, "It's a dog eat dog world, Dave." Then, he'd smile, joke about the difficulty, and we'd move on. I didn't see him much after he'd left the Fed, but when I did, it was like I'd seen him yesterday - he was always a warm person and a good friend, a unique and special man. My sympathy to the family.

This is Dave Larson (and Carol)...

We lost a good friend but his spirit lives in our hearts and minds. We were is Ireland at the time and there is an old Irish Blessing that we send to Joe:

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rain fall soft upon your fields, and
Until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of His hand

With Love from Dave and Carol 9.16.2007

My sympathy goes out to all of the godava family. Joe will be in our prayers.

Even tho I have been away from Mpls. for over 40 years, I still remember Joe and his smile and how he treated all the same. He will surely be missed at our 50th class reunion. He is in God's loving arms now and is free of suffering.

"time for tea" Joe sitting on the lawn of the Jordan Pond house in Acadia Natioanl Park. Famous for serving tea & popovers on the lawn in the afternoon. The Bubble Mountains are in the background. june 1985.

some of my favorite photos of Joe were taken on my trip to Bar Harbor, Maine where I worked the summer of 1985. Joe accompanied me on my cross country trip to Acadia National Park. This is a predeparture picture with Logan Park in my the background.

SWEET SPIRIT, GUIDE YOUR SON JOE ON THE WINGS OF ANGELS TO THE PLACE OF ETERNAL LIGHT AND LOVE. CRADLE AND COMFORT THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF JOE IN THIS PERIOD OF SORROW AND EMPTINESS. MAY WE FIND PEACE IN YOUR GRACE AND THE GIFT OF LIFE. WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE AND FORGIVENESS. AMEN.

JOE HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR ME. HE WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART.
