Not sure what to say?

I still miss you, Kiddo.

I have remembered Father Goebel all my life as the fun, hip, smiling priest who would visit us kids at the St. Ann's roller skating rink. When he arrived we couldn't skate fast enough to be near him. Wherever Father Goebel went we wanted to be there too. I still remember him giving me Holy Communion, dashing through the hallways, inspiring us with his positive energy. A blessing wherever he went. Thank you Father Goebel!

I will miss my friend and spiritual guide. RIP

Father Goebel was one of the priest in our wedding mass on June 16, 1956 at St. Joseph's Church in Strongsville. We celebrated our 62nd. anniversary this year, so he must have done a great job.

Fr. Goebel - we didn't call them by their first names back in the 1950's when he came as a new priest to St. Joseph's in Strongsville. He was one of the best priests when I attended grade school. He would come after lunch and play baseball with us in the school parking lot. He was a happy, holy and fun-loving priest. We loved him dearly. I know he is playing with all the children in heaven. Your smile says it all. You're in the best place now forever and ever.

Everyone in my family loved Fr. Goebel while he was at St. Ann Church in the 1960s. What a treat when he substituted while my pastor was on vacation years later. He was so delightful when he called the little children to the front and talked to them before sending them off to their own Liturgy of the Word.
My mother was of the opinion that Father Powers and Father Goebel were mirrored by Barry Fitzgerald and Bing Crosby in "Going My Way".

Fr. Goebel, thank you for being a part of my life. My life is better because of you. Will never forget you!

Rest in Peace....

Born to be a priest.
The finest example of a true apostle.

The Church was fortified by his ministry and we are all made more fortunate and grateful for knowing such a great man.

I am so sorry to hear about your passing. I knew you since I was a little girl. I am so glad you officiated my wedding. My grandfather, Ernie Zeve, cherished your friendship. You were an amazing man. You will be missed.
Condolences and prayers to your family.
