1965, Joe interviewed me in the basement of Barnes Hospital for the program at Wash Univ. We remained friends from that date forward and my most sincere condolences to his family. He was a good man, a man who valued family and friends above all, and a man who enriched my life.

I met Joe when Pennye Pollard and I joined him to visit an Ostomy Chapter in Springfield, Missouri. We attended several Regional and National Conferences during the 1990’s. Joe always had a positive attitude and it has been a pleasure to know him.

I, too, have many memories of Joe from times he came to a meeting in St. Louis and times I saw him at conferences. Pennye Pollard introduced us many years ago. I will miss knowing he was there. I hadn't heard from him in a number of years, but just knew he was still there.
