Joseph F. Grimley, Jr., 60, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in Leominster Hospital, after an illness.


He leaves three children: Blake Grimley of Natick, Colleen Grimley of Clinton, and Katie Grimley of Leominster; a sister, Patricia A. Grimley of Clinton; and several cousins.


Joe was born and raised in Clinton, son of the late Joseph F. and Maureen A. (O’Connell) Grimley.  He was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1981.


For many years, he worked as a Corrections Officer for the Worcester County Jail.


He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, and the former Clinton Lodge of Elks.


Joe’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, with a service at 11:00 a.m. in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday morning, June 29th, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., prior to the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, the Grimley family suggests that memorial donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.

Joe always made the environment at the jail more tolerable because of his jokes and willingness to share the workload. He was a nice guy who always smiled.

Joe, we have not seen each other in years but When I remember your wedding and the fun, I always smile! I pray Patti and your family have you watching over them. Rest in Peace
