Not sure what to say?

Jodi, I learned of Joe's death through your mom. Please know that you and you're family are in my prayers. I'm asking God to grant you all an extra measure of grace, that you may find your way through this valley in the weeks, months, and years ahead. Peace be with you all.

I am so sorry to hear about this loss. I was Joe's second grade teacher at Webster. I will never forget his smile.

My deepest sympathies,
Heather Smith (Fry)

My thoughts turn to your whole family, and the intricate web of friends, teachers, caregivers, neighbors - and the list goes on - that Joe connected with over his years. Dave - I loved seeing pictures of your family at the end of every powerpoint presentation! You are all blessed by love and support, Joe clearly touched many lives. Know that many more of us are sending our thoughts and prayers to keep you strong.

Dave and the Gubbrud Family:
I am thinking of your incredible son and the deep loss you must feel. I hope the joy he brought so many people keeps you connected to him forever. The Smiley's Family is keeping you in our thoughts.
Carrie Link

Dave and Family,
Please accept my feelings of sadness for your loss, but also joy for the time you had with Joe and the remarkable memories you will have for the rest of your lives. I never knew Joe, but he sounds like someone everyone should have the opportunity to know at some time in their lives. Keep God in your hearts - He will care for and protect you in the times ahead. Sincerely, Jane Dockter (I knew Dave from Smiley's Clinic.)

Dear Dave and Jodi,
So sorry to hear about your son's death. I didn't know him though I certainly see his joy of life and love as something that is strong in his family.
Thinking of you in this tender time.

Sending you love. I first met Joe in the NICU at Riverside - so many years ago now. I enjoyed watching him grow, taking his walks in the neighborhood. He was always joyful! A great example for the rest of us on how to live with grace.

Dave, our hearts are so heavy, he was a special blessing to you and your wife. You two are the best, and gave him your all with unconditional love and care. Please let use know if there is anything in even the smallest of ways we can do anything for your family. Always in our hearts. Ron and Lori (DeAngelo Anderson)
