Not sure what to say?

dont have much more to add than previously. i just remember him as being a good roommate and considerate. really sorry about his passing.

I met Joe very soon after I'd moved to Oakland in 2003. Joe, Amy and Dana were just the kinda friends I needed and I treasure all the fun times we spent. Joe was always so incredibly kind to me and always lifted me up. A very genuine, smart, funny person who I was so lucky to know. We bonded over music and we had lotsa silly times. I miss him very much and send so much love to the Haener family, Shannon, and everyone who loved Joe.

May ahead rest in peace. Died too young.

i didnt know joe all that well. he was a roommate living in the room next to mine circa 2007-2008. somewhere around that period. i do remember having brief hallway snippets of conversation about music. i remember his laidback, mellow personality, and generosity as being traits i can only strive to follow in example. sorry to have heard of his passing.

i was a roommate of joe around 2008 in sf. he was a quiet sweet guy full of positivity. i remember he once got me a gift card for a local record store for my birthday. it was out of the blue and unexpected, but he was that kind of thoughtful guy. we had to leave the flat we shared due to the offer from a real estate speculator who took over the building. i remember joe donated his portion to the head tenant. that was the kind of guy i remember. i'm sorry for your loss.

Dear Delbert and Nannett- my heart breaks for your family. I only know you from our visits in my dental chair but your family has always been one of my favorites and I admire your love for your family and how truly wonderful it was to work with you and your family. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Nikki (Mayerle & Tydeman Dental)

Joe was a very kind sole and my heart breaks for Shannon and the Haener family. I'm sorry to say that I fell out of touch with him a few years after La Salle, but I will always have very fond memories of us playing music and camping back in high school. He was truly a beautiful person and so so sorry for your loss.

Delbert, Nannett and family, I am so sorry for your tragic loss. My heart goes out to all of you. I did not know Joe but probably saw him as a young boy. My son, Corey Smith, was good buds with Dan when they attended St. Luke´s. May God provide comfort during this devastating time.

Please accept our deep sympathy for your loss of a loved family member. We did not ever meet Joseph, but are well acqainted with Shannon and share her sorrow. God Bless and protect your family and all who knew and loved Joseph.
