Joseph Thomas Haglund, 66, of Plymouth died peacefully at home on October 13, 2016 with his family at his side. He was the devoted husband of Barbara M. (Davis) Haglund. Born on November 29, 1949 in Brockton, MA, he was the son of the late Corwin R. and Mildred A. (Asiaf) Haglund. Joseph was educated in Brockton Schools and The Culinary Institute of America and worked as a chef for most of his life. He was most recently employed at Proprietor's Green in Marshfield and was previously the owner of the Windjammer Restaurant in Buzzards Bay. In earlier years he was a chef at Boca, Café Christina, and Cataldi's restaurants. Joseph enjoyed hunting, caring for his tropical fish tanks, and spending time with his grandkids. He was an avid sports fan, and especially loved watching the New England Patriots. Besides leaving his beloved wife of 46 years, Barbara, he was the loving father of Jason and his wife Erin Haglund of Middleboro, and Cyndi Poore and her husband Jim of Sagamore, MA. He was the beloved brother of Dr. Robert Haglund of Naples, FL and cherished grandfather of Benjamin Poore, Killian, Brishan, and Lennon Haglund. A memorial celebration of life will take place on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society; www.cancer.org For online guestbook and directions visit; www.cartmelldavis.com

Barbara, I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. He was a mentor of mine when I was just starting out in the buisiness and he became a friend I have so many good memories of him I wish you and your family peace and healing.

We are so sad to hear of Joe's passing. Although I had not seen him in many years he will always have a place in my heart along with our wonderful childhood memories at White Horse as well as Brockton. To his entire family may all of you know others share your sorrow and may he Rest In Peace until we meet again.
