Not sure what to say?

To Joe's family: I just wanted you to know how much I thought of Joe. I worked with him for many years at Lathrop. His door was always open and he had wonderful advise for my students and myself.(I worked with various special needs students) I enjoyed his dry humor which often left me chuckling throughout the day. The Harshman form was a fabulous visual map which helped students find their path. I hope you enjoy a path filled with wonderful memories of Joe. Take Care

To Colleen, Kristin, and Damond: We are so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. Bryan especially has fond memories of him and the times he spent at your house in Fbks. He was a good man and we know he will stay in your hearts forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Joe was a great coach and teacher. His care and concern for students was at the highest level. Of all of the people with whom I have coached, he ranks right at the top. He was a good friend and someone I will greatly miss. Ann and I send Colleen and the rest of the family our deepest sympathy.

Our condolences to Colleen and the Harshman family. We have lasting memories of Joe's first few years of teaching & coaching in Hoonah. It is very sad to hear of his death.
