Joseph Paul Heim

On August 25, 1960, God blessed this world with a very special life that shed a lot of love. He was Joseph Paul Heim named after his dad and his grandpa. He was proudly welcomed by his father Joseph L. Heim Jr. and his mother Donna G Heim.

Joseph loved people and made his way into many hearts. He loved Jesus and was lifted into the arms of his friend and Savior.  At a very young age, Joe would tell his mom, "I prayed last night that God would make me smart." (He had learning disabilities which caused many struggles). Joe was always assured that God was listening and helping him with all the things he was able to conquer. Now he has complete healing and only joy in his Father's presence.

Joe was an excellent worker and started at the young age of 10 with a neighborhood paper route, which included delivering the papers as well as collecting payments. His work experience also included fast food, for a tool and die maker, a security guard, care giver in group homes for the developmentally disabled, a proud volunteer firefighter in Chaparral NM and finally at Walmart for the past 9 years. At Walmart, he started in produce but eventually asked to be at the front door as his "security expertise" was much needed. He loved working the front door and was always happy to greet strangers and friends. Joe had a special gift of remembering people's names and couldn't be taken anywhere without him knowing someone! He is already sorely missed by all.

Joe is survived by his mother Donna, and father Joe; daughters Janie Finney, Jessica Heim and son Kyle Heim; granddaughter Alexis Sheets, sisters Heidi Durbin, Pam Saucedo (Jesus), and brother Dan Heim (Cindy). Joe was also blessed with a loving stepmother Mary Heim.  His survivors include many cousins, a nephew and other family and friends.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Westside Freewill Baptist Church, 1403 S. Cheyenne Rd., Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma, 918-247-7373.
