Not sure what to say?

It's hard to express the shock of realizing it was Joe. I'd known him since 1972 when I worked with him in the Materials Lab at the City of San Jose. Later as a civil engineer, I dealt with him often. He was a straight shooter. No B.S. He simply said what was. I'll always remember Joe and his close friend Gerry Brown, two big men walking together. Now both gone.

My heart aches for the tragic loss of a beautiful life. I had the pleasure of knowing this amazing family while growing up in Aptos and loved running into Joe around town. His daughter was a good friend of mine in high school and it was wonderful hearing him talk about her achievements in life and to see how proud he was of her. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, I'm so sorry for their loss..

Words can not express the shock we felt upon hearing of the loss of Joe & Edy. We first met before they were married and shared some great times early on in their life together. I worked with Joe for many years after he came back to San Jose from his Military Service. You could not have had a better friend. Sure glad we were able to share their 40th Anniversary with them thanks to their daughter Marlene. Joe And Edy will always be in our thoughts. Our prays are now for Marlene.

Still Working Big Guy, Who Knew?

I was first shocked, then deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of life of my dear childhood friend "Big Joe" and his wife of many years, Edy. The knowledge of that horrendous event caused me to reflect on the safe haven of childhood memories of chatting on the front porch of the big white house on the corner of St. Madar & Monday Streets and riding around town in Mobile, Alabama in his family's '55 Black Buick. We both graduated from Most Pure Heart of Mary High School, class of 1959,...

I'll miss saying hi to you while you're walking your dog in our neighborhood. Always wanted to talk more but never got a chance. Rest in peace.
