When we moved to New Jersey 25 years ago, we navigated to Hill's Hardware and met Joe. He became our first true NJ friend. His appreciation for American History matched ours, and was the cement that bonded the friendship.
Joe was a gentle soul. Never heard him utter an unfriendly word about anyone.
He had time for everyone and a willingness to help all.
He served Hopewell Borough unselfishly because he loved it.

My deepest sympathy to all the Hill family. "Joe" Hill was a wonderful man. I remember well many, many great times at J. B. Hill in Hopewell and the times we not only bought what we wanted, but talked about bass fishing which I remember was one of his passions...
