Joe was a kind, caring man that never forgot his humble roots. He was gracious to all of his friends and family. I remember him well from working in the Department of Labor and Industry when he was Commissioner. The State was richer for having his presence in government.

Dear Maggie,
The one endearing memory I have of Joe was his ability to relate to the common man. As accomplished as he was he never forgot his roots.
I will remember his kindness and friendship forever.
Love,
