Not sure what to say?

I will always remember Joe and his compassion. We spent a lot of time together as employees of St Mary of the Woods. Car washes, raffles, pan cake breakfasts, trips to Appalachia. They were all Joe! My condolences to the entire Jekot family.

Joe was always so admired for his wonderful ways with the students at Loyola academy. He was very helpful with my nephew Chris a student at Loyola I have known Joe as a family friend his entire life. Please accept most heartfelt sympathy to his family and my prayers that they will know the Lord's comfort and peace

I am at a total loss of words upon learning that ,Joseph Jekot, my mentor and good friend is no longer with us. I remember meeting him at water polo practice in the Loyola University pool. He had a very charismatic aura about himself. I can recall vividly when he took me to Loyola Academy for the first time to play water polo. I can never repay him for taking me into his home to attend school at Loyola. We had some great and crazy times together. Meeting him throughout the years was...

I met Joe at the Northlands Storytelling Conference. Joe also traveled to the East coast to attend storytelling workshops that I organized. He was so kind, thoughtful, a good listener, and very funny! I am stunned by this. My heart goes out to his family and friends; sending you my love and support.

Our deepest condolences to the entire Jekot Family. Some of my fondest memories are of playing ball with Joe and Eddie and umpiring with Mike. Doc and Mrs. Jekot were always welcoming and the whole family was always fun to be around. Our prayers are with you all.

Mr. Jekot was such an inspiration to many students. His passion for teaching and storytelling is something I will cherish forever. I took an intro to Psychology class senior year at Loyola and because of him I went on to study Psychology. He was such a wonderful man who also shared his love for his family, specifically his daughter. He will be greatly missed. I am thankful to have been blessed with his presence in my life and look forward to hearing more stories from him one day in Heaven.

Joe & Rick Townsend at our 40th Park Ridge Swim Club reunion. Awesome catching up with Joe!!

Dear Eileen,
I am saddened to learn of your family's devastating loss. Please find strength in the many wonderful memories you share and know that I am praying for you all at this most difficult time.

Joe and I engaged in many deep and serious discussions of faith. No matter what struggles and roadblocks life brought to Joe, he always stayed faithful to his God. What more would our Creator ask? Joe brought many laughs and knowledge to the Loyola students and to me. From the pool (where he was a faithful fan of the water teams) to the classroom Joe made a difference.
