CLOSED-Harvey Family Funeral Home Obituary

Joseph (Joe) Anthony Lewandowski, 75 of Seattle. A larger than life figure, first born son of Anthony and Eleanore Lewandowski.

Beloved husband of the late Marie (Bunnie) Bertucci. Father of Mary Ellen (Tyler) Engman and Tony Lewandowski. Grandfather to Royal. Brother of William (Gloria), David (Diane), Diane(the late Dan) Fisher, and Thomas (Patricia) Lewandowski. Uncle to Eric, Russell, John Anthony, Adriane, Paul, Max, Zack, Phillip, Ben, Pia, Anna, Lillian, Tricia, Vince, Matthew, and Dominic. Cousin to many and friend to many more.

Joe was born in Gary, Indiana and grew up in Calumet Park, Illinois. He was a good humored jokester who had a memorable laugh. He could fix anything and was an all-around handyman. He gave good advice and enjoyed telling stories. He then enlisted and became an Electrician in the U.S. Navy during the height of the Vietnam War. After the war, he cultivated a sense of social justice along with an appreciation of rock-n-roll and a mellow buzz that never left him. He later married his wife Marie (Bunnie), raised a family, and spent many years until he retired working for AT&T. He moved to Seattle in 2015 to be with his daughter and son-in-law and grandson. He loved the fall colors, nature, animals, playing Chess, playing poker, and any card game you could think of. He loved living in Seattle and thought it was so beautiful, and always appreciated the rain because it made everything green and alive.

Not sure what to say?

Joe and I were roommates for a short time at a Skilled Nursing Facility earlier this year. And, yes, he introduced himself as "Big Joe" :-)

He made a positive impression on me, and I'll always fondly remember him.

Condolences to his family and loved ones.

Our heartfelt sympathy from your cousins in New York. Much love from Anna, Stephen, Soren , and Barley.

The tears we shed are not for Joe, but for the hole that cannot be filled. His honesty, integrity, sense of humor and generosity could be exceeded only by the love he had for his family and friends . May the memory of his gentle smile, wise advise and wonderful sense of humor remain in our hearts until we meet again, .. You are loved Joe.

My prayers are with Joe's family at this most difficult time. This is such a good photo of Joe. Joe was a very gentle, and generous man. He talked alot about his family and was so proud of his Grandson. RIP BIg Joe, Love You Always and Forever, Sue

Joe was a good dude. Sorry for his loss.

Always in our hearts.....

Till we me again Brother.
