Joseph Theodore "Ted" Jones Joseph Theodore "Ted" Jones Jr., 54, of Charlottesville, Virginia, departed this life on Monday, July 22, 2013, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born in Charlottesville, on March 10, 1959, the son of Eilean O. and Joseph Theodore Jones Sr. Joseph joined Trinity Episcopal Church at an early age and was once an acolyte there. He completed his formal education in the Charlottesville school system. Upon completing high school he moved to Washington, D.C. Having a passion for cooking he enrolled into the Washington Culinary School of Arts where he earned his degree in Culinary Arts. Ted worked at a number of upscale restaurants in the D.C. Metropolitan area including the Kennedy Center. His last place of employment was at the University of Virginia prior to his illness. He enjoyed music, dancing, hanging out with family and friends, especially his children and granddaughter; as well as all types of sports, specifically boxing, and was a devoted Redskins fan. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Mitchell Jay Corbett; a daughter, Marquita Nicole Jones; a brother, Vincent Raynard Jones; a granddaughter, Aaliya Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 12 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1042 Preston Avenue; with the Reverend B. Cass Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. The family would like to thank his special friends that stuck by him during his illness and appreciates all their help and support. J. F. Ted, Ted,Ted. Tenacious, Explosive & Divine are characteristics that come to mind when I think of my cousin.
I thank God for Teds presence for 53 years and thank his wonderful parents who was with him at the beginning and end of his journey.
I believe Ted lived hard, loved harder and death is hardest on the multitude of family, friends and those who loved him.
