Joe and I shared a passion for toy soldiers. I miss him especially at the Chicago Show every September. So glad the reminder come to help my fond memories of a fine man.

I last saw Joe in 1971 as we served in VAW-114 aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. In all of these years, I've remembered Joe's friendly nature and the pleasure of being in his company. In more recent years, I enjoyed communicating with him following our reconnect online.

Pat's mom. is my dear friend Gloria McGrath. We taught at St. Denis, and car-pooled numerous times. I felt like I knew Pat & Joe's family as Gloria shared their events with me every day as I did the same with her. We became close friends so I consider myself kind of a 'friend-in-law', if you will. Joe was in my daily prayers during his sickness and I will continue those prayers for the Jorio and McGrath families. He was well loved and cherished by all. How lucky the world was to have been...
