A resident of Roseland died at 11:15 AM on Friday, April 10, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 1, 1963 in Independence and was 51 years of age. He is survived by 3 daughters, Danielle George, Katie Sowell and husband, Shawn and Kimber Ratliff Watkins and husband, Delton; son, Joseph Charles "Trey" Ratliff, III, and companion, Bethany; 6 grandchildren, Bre Anna Ratliff, Aliah, Blair and Sadie Benkendorf, Cameron Roy and Riley Traylor; mother, Jackie Genco; father, Joseph Charles Ratliff, Sr.; 4 sisters, Carolyn Dupont and husband, Donald, Theresa Ficklin, Cindy Ratliff and Cheryl Ratliff; 1 brother, Gordon Scott Ratliff and wife, Joni; an ex-wife, Debra Relan; daughter-in-law, Amber Ratliff; and JR's faithful dog, Booker T. Preceded in death by his step father, John Genco; brother, Tommy Ratliff and sister, Patricia Rick. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 10 AM until religious services at 1 PM Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Services conducted by Rev. Jerry Wicker.
