Reichel Funeral Home - Northampton Obituary

Joseph G. Karo, 70 of Northampton passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. Born on September 16, 1953 in Allentown, he was the son of the late George and Helen (Szerencsits) Karo. Joseph was a graduate of Northampton High School. He was employed as a laborer for Bethlehem Steel for many years. Joseph was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan, enjoyed shooting darts and golfing.


Survivors: Joseph is survived by an aunt, uncles, and several cousins.


Services: Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton. 


Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the burn unit at Lehigh Valley Health Network c/o the funeral home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton, PA  18067 in loving memory of Joseph.

Joe was one of my best friends growing up in Northampton. I last saw him in 2019 while visiting from Tennessee (photo). He was a good guy!

My condolences to Joe's family. I remember Joe from around town. I learned about his passing today as he was prayed for at mass. .

So Sorry to hear about your loss! I worked with Joe in the Electric Melting Department of Bethlehem Steel. He was a great guy to be around, he would always would make you laugh, he will be missed. RIP fellow Steelworker
