Joseph Karpiel Jr.

Condolences to the family!! Mr. Karpiel was a fantastic teacher...he was the 1st teacher to expose all of his middle schoolers to dissecting...we learned all we would ever want to know about earthworms and frogs. He had an aquarium full of snakes (it´s the ONLY time I enjoyed holding a snake). Thank you Mr. Karpiel for investing in our lives and spurring our love for science with hands on learning.

I am praying for your family now and in the days to come. Mr. Karpiel had an amazing ability to teach a difficult subject. I loved him and his classes. He believed I could do well in college science classes and encouraged me to pursue my dream. He was correct and I became a nurse. Such a wonderful man.

Mr. Karpiel was one of my favorite teachers at Galesburg-Augusta Middle School. I enjoyed his sciences classes very much and he was extremely kind to me. He really made an effort to get to know his students and tried to encourage them to follow their interests . He knew who much I loved history as a student and challenged me to read and think critically. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. Sending his family and friends deepest sympathies at this time.
