Dr. Joseph Chan Kent

Joe Kent was a valued long time member of the Seattle Cascade Chinese Golf Club. I was fortunate enough to play with him many times, and also compete against him once for the club championship. I still have vivid memories of our match. We were all square on the 18th hole of the Gold Mountain Cascade course. I could out drive Joe by about 75 yards, but he was always straight and down the middle of the fairway. His shots were accurate and his short game was deadly. He would smile whenever I out...

Today in the paper I saw a name out of the past.
In 1953 Dr. Kent was a new professor at the UW and I was a young sophomore engineering student in his statics class. He was a fine person and an excellent teacher.
