Not sure what to say?

Father Kitko baptized both my children when we lived in Laurel. When we moved to Odenton, I wrote him a letter expressing my heartfelt appreciation for his sermons and the positive impact on me and how much I would miss them.

I am one of the babies that father Joe baptized. It is only now that I am 60 I am learning about him: he sounds like a really wonderful man Who I'm sure felt compassion towards me and supported my mother, since I was born prematurely, and christened at a week old. I was baptized at Saint Charles in Pikesville, and it's so amazing that he was pastor in Laurel, where I came to live! Eternal memory! Thanking him for what he did for me, though I didn't know him.

Our beloved Father Kitko. How lucky we were to have him in our lives. He was the rock that God built our wonderful Laurel parish on. We will love him dearly for ever and ever.

If I may, I would love to share my thoughts and memories of Father Joe. It seems to me that Father Joe has been at Our Lady of Mount Carmel for as long as I have been a parishioner which has been from about 1995 when my oldest son started attending CCD. I really don’t know when he became part of the parish. But Father Joe became more visible to me when my two boys became alter boys. I remember telling my boys of my memories of being an alter boy as a student and member of the Shrine of the...

We love you Uncle Joe. You made such a wonderful impact for the Lord in this life. We are so sad for us, but happy for you, as you have gone to Jesus and your heavenly reward. We know your crown will be large!

Father Kitko shared his life in Jesus. He would sing "Let your heart be glad . . . so to shine like stars in the darkness of the night." Keep on shining, Joe.

Fr. Joe was a wonderful inspiration. He always had a story to tell when he did his homilies. We enjoyed every one of them very much. Thank you Fr. Joe for everything you did for us.

Father Kitko was simply one of the finest human beings I have ever known.
He was my pastor and spiritual guide at Resurrection Parish Laurel for 21 years. Above all, he was a friend, and I will miss him always.
