Joe worked hard to keep our group in touch by compiling a large roster of 8611 veterans and establishing a Baumholder website which he managed until illness forced him to retire. He was one of a kind.

Dear Folks,
Joe was one of my advisees, long ago. I was saddened by the news of his death. Pleas accept my sincere sympathies.
Joe was very much concerned about his work, and we had many, long, phone conversations about problems that he had uncovred in the work that he was doing.
I regret that we can't be present at his memorial service.
