Not sure what to say?

Mary Ellen,
So sorry for your loss. You will be in our prayers.

The story of my parents, Robert and Dorothy Scanlon, meeting at the wedding of Joe and Mary Kunkel always stuck in my mind. Then I move to South St. Louis and start buying pretzels from Mr. Kunkel. After I find out who he is, he would ask about them every time I stopped. He was a very kind human being and the BEST pretzel man in St. Louis. He will truly be missed by all.

My dad would buy pretzels from Joe every week, and shared fishing stories with him. Something special from growing up that I remember. Thank you for your service.

My deepst condolences may your sprirt live on mr joe

I worked with joe's wife my daughter and myself. I loved them both as well as the family. He will be missed by my daughter and myself. I was a neighbor of Joe and Mary for 15 years and I am so sorry to hear of his passing, they were the nicest couple and every year he would take pictures of the neighbors houses and use them in a home made christmas card and send them to us. My condolences to the family.

My wife grew up in the Lindenwood Park neighborhood. Along with our daughters, we lived on Jamieson for over 10 years and regularly bought pretzels from "The Pretzel Man". Many fond memories and he will be missed.

Mary Ellen, I am so very sorry for your loss. He is now in Heaven reunited again with his beloved wife. You and your family are in my prayers.
