I was shocked and saddened to hear of Joe's passing. Our families have been close friends for years and I was kept abreast of Joe's successes but my best memory of Joe is as our Social Science Seminar's "Jimmy Carter", during the '76 Presidential campaign. I was his campaign manager. Joe was also the first guy to crack my back. I am so sorry to hear of the death of a good man. I went to grade school and High School with Joe. It's so easy to picture his smile and hear his low laugh, even though we were not close and haven't seen each other in years. I think of him as a "gentle giant." My thoughts and prayers are with his family as you grieve this loss.

I was shocked and saddened when I read the paper. Joe was a great guy and a friend. We shared a lot of memories on and off the football field together. He will be missed. My sympathies to the entire Kwak family.

Very Sad. We had a lot of classes together at Meyers High School. I remember him as being a really nice guy who could be very funny and liked to laugh. My sympathies to his family and all who loved him.
