Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home - Perryton Obituary

Joe L’Esperance, 52, of Perryton, Texas passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 in Amarillo, Texas.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 19th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Key Heights Baptist Church in Perryton, officiated by Rev. Duce Cooper.  Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. of Perryton, Texas.


Joe was born on October 12, 1972 in Perryton, Texas to Joe Mary L’Esperance and Leah Garcia L’Esperance.  He married his wife, Tina Harrison L’Esperance, on July 17, 2010 in Perryton.  He worked in oilfield sales.  He was a member of Key Heights Baptist Church in Perryton, and he was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.  He loved to fish, loved his animals, loved people, and he was always surrounded by laughter.


Joe is survived by his wife, Tina; one brother, Johnny L’Esperance and wife Peggy of Perryton; six sisters, Irene Arnold and husband Tim of Canyon, Texas, Ida Ybright and husband Clint, Annie L’Esperance, Lucy Gonzales and husband Marty, Francis L’Esperance, and Josephine L’Esperance, all of Perryton; one step-son, Nicholas Luther and wife Angela; two step-daughters, Cassie Luther and Kali Turner and husband Chade; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.


Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife’s parents; one sister, Josie L'Esperance; one brother, Jerry L'Esperance; and one nephew, Gary Vinson.


The family requests memorials be to one’s favorite charity.

Who has the greatest laugh ever? Joseph has the greatest laugh ever! When he laughed, it was contagious. You couldn’t help but laugh too! One of his great qualities. Joseph grew up behind my grandparents house Grinnell/Harvard St. The L’Esperance family has always been more family to me than just friends. I’ll miss those times working together at 4:00 AM at Saguaro Feedyards off FM 2711, doctoring cattle, running feed trucks listening to Van Halen, scooping bunks cause we overfed. Joseph...
