Not sure what to say?

Joe was the greatest basketball player I ever played with, and it's difficult to comprehend that he no longer will pull up to hit a jumper or slam home a dunk anymore.

One of my fondest basketball memories was in a crucial sixth-grade tournament for St. John's with the game in the balance and only seconds left. Joe stood at the free-throw line and gave the sign of the cross before nailing the free throw. He asked for your help then, God, and you came through. I know you will help...

I went to grade school with Joe. Although I was a grade older I knew Joe well. I was very shocked to hear about his passing. He was truly a good friend and I know he will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Joe and his family are in my prayers.

Joe, You will be missed. You are truly a wonderful person. Thanks for all the great poems...I will cherish them always.

St. John's class of 1977 -- fellow athlete -- what talent and charisma -- very, very sorry to learn of Joe's too-early passing.

Blessings and best regards to the Latus family and friends.

I attended St. John's with Joe and was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with Joe's family and friends in this time of sorrow.

Our deepest sympathy to the family at this time, may he rest in peace. Carl and Barbara Dufek

Joe and my husband, Tom, often shared memories of their time in the Air force. Tom is waiting for Joe in heaven to resume their conversation.

In Loving Memory...we walked the same path for awhile.
