Not sure what to say?

I never had Mr. Lechuga as a teacher, and didn't really interact with him very much. I talked to him probably a total of five times throughout high school, but nonetheless, all I ever heard from him was what a great person I was. I felt like I was the most important person in the world whenever we spoke. To him, for those five fleeting moments, I was.

Mr. Lechuga was a great man and I am honored to have had him as an Instructor. He was not just a teacher at Regis; he was the ultimate role model. Through his relentless giving of himself to the community, he demonstrated what it really meant to be a Man For Others. I will never forget Mr. Lechuga, as I am sure no one else will forget him and because of that he will always be with us and giving us inspiration.

To a man without any bounds of worth, my coach, my mentor, and my guidance: words cannot describe a man like you. You were warm-hearted, faithful, and loving. You showed me the utmost respect in my time of most dire need. I never had the chance to tell you, but you saved my life. There were times I wanted nothing more than to be dead, but then I would set foot in your office. Without knowing, you brought me back to life. You kept my head above water because you kept me afloat. To Coach's...

Thanks for all of the endless help in chemistry!! You were an excellent teacher to have!

I will never forget the first day I met Joe Lechuga...August of 1978 at the first day of freshman football practice. Joe was the strongest and fastest guy on the team. He was also the only member of our 9th grade class who could grow a beard. I have many fond memories of Joe. He was the unique blend of strength, courage, compassion and patience. He was a 'poet of life' just like his mentor...John Denver.

My prayers go out to Mr. Lechuga and family. I am blessed to have him as a teacher, a role model and a friend. I know he will be living the 4th in heaven.

The feelings that i have for Mr. Lechuga can't be said in a little guestbook box like this one, but i can try to express my thankfulness that Mr. Lechuga was in my life. In his lifetime, he has shown what being a man for others is all about through his caring and giving, not just for me, but the entire Regis community. I thank him for this, and will never forget him.

Joe Lechuga was the best because he could tell you his views about science and God while holding Warren Green in a head-lock. No other teacher has ever made me laugh and learn quite like Mr. Lechuga. I will always remember his joy for life and am thankful that I was able to take his class.

It came as such a shock to me that a person as vibrant and wonderful as Mr. Lechuga could be taken away from the world he helped make a better place. Only God knows why it had to be this way but we can remember him and shape our own lives with the model he gave to us. Thank you, teacher, for the life-long lessons with which you have blessed me.
