I just heard about the passing of Joe. I had played Soccer for Joe way back when we won the National Championship as U13`S. I still have that picture to look at. I Coached at Joe`s summer soccer camps for years. I also played in the Summer League`s he would organize at Church Farm School. Joe was Mr. Soccer in Chester County. Sorry for your loss!! A lot of great memories with Mr Leitner and his family!! My parents and the Leitner's were friends for more than 59 years. Mrs Leitner took excellent care of Mr Leitner!! Every Christmas night our families would get together and exchange presents. Rest in Pesce Mr Leitner!!!

I regret not being able to attend the visitation/service today. Joe was an icon without a doubt. My best to Joe Jr. and the family.

In 1987 when I moved to the area, I was in Kmart and saw a man wearing samba. Wanting to get involved with soccer I approached him and we spoke for 15 minutes. His advice to get involved with WCUSC was some of the best advice ever as I have forged relationships with many. I also had the pleasure of getting to know the man after all the years of running into him on the field and his desire to give back by reffing soccer for years. A great man, a legend. Joseph was a good friend and a great collegaue . I admired very much his Soccer officiating. My prayers are with family, that God be close to you and comfort you at this time of sorrow.
