Not sure what to say?

I called Joe back in the 1980s after seeing his name credited on many of my childhood ViewMaster reels. He was so full of artistic memories. The models of the beautiful characters and scenes were much bigger than I imagined. My favorite was the Flintstones, his favorite was the Jungle Book.He said nobody had ever taken the time to call him about his craft and was very gracious and happy to fill me in on his career. Your family should be very proud of the lasting images he created capturing...

My family and I only knew him for a very little while, but we will remember his kind and friendly smile and his patience. He sure made a lasting impression on our lives. Mia Murar

I collect ww2 pictures. I may have a picture of Joe. Contact me at [email protected]

My husband and I had the priviledge to care for Joe the last 3 month of his life. He became an instant buddy to Peter, and I loved to hear him tell stories of his life, little as he shared these last days. In spite of his health deteriorating fast, he kept a positive, contented and thankful attitude at all times, so that in spite of the challenges of his care, it has been a pleasure to be part of his last days. He is dear to all of my family and all of us will remember and miss him. Sandy,...

Uncle Joe was my godfather...we spent many summers with the Liptak family on the Long Beach peninsula...you can also imagine how delightful it was to visit him at work with shelves full of fairy tale and cartoon characters made of clay for the Viewmaster reel story photographs

My father, Hank Gaylord, worked at ViewMaster with Joe and counted him as one of his best friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Joe several times and have marveled at his ViewMaster art work for years. My Mother has kept in touch with Joe since my father passed away in 2002. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Lynn Remillard
