Joe Mackie had an accomplished life, a big presence and a kind wit; and I feel very lucky to have known him and to count he and Florence amongst my dear friends. He was so very respected and admired by all who knew him; in fact a bit of a legend. I send my love and sincere condolences to Florence and all of the Mackie family.

Dr. Mackie was hands down the smartest physician I ever had. He always went the extra mile, and had plenty of time to listen and discuss. The single spaced, multiple-page letters that were the follow-up to a Dr.Mackie physical were something to behold, and sadly a thing of the past in the medical world of today.
It was a great pleasure to have known this fine man, and I extend my sincere condolences to his family.

Joe Mackie was a very special gentleman. He was bright, charming, and a terrific doctor. I consider it a privilege to have been a colleague of his for many years and a neighbor for several.
My heart goes out to Florence.
I shall miss him.
