Not sure what to say?

I worked at the Como Inn for many years as a waitress in the 70´s. It was a fun work environment and I learned important work ethics there. Joe and Larry were considerate and fair employers and always had their employees interests in mind. They ran a world class operation and served some of the best Italian food ever.

I worked for Joe at the como inn for a number of years. My deepest sympathies to mary jane and. jP, Larry, Steven and paul.

Almost 20 years and I still have fond memories of Joe. I was just another car guy but he treated me royally at the Como Inn and the Chicago historic races. God speed

Dear JP and Mrs. Marchetti,
I remember fondly spending time with you, Mrs. Marchetti, and Mark Bentivenga's mom at Mark's concerts. JP, we were friends and maybe a little more a long time ago. I haven't known how to get a hold of you personally so this is my best. My love is with you during your difficult time and I truly understand because I lost my father a year ago. Please contact me because I would love to see you. 312.925.7613 or [email protected]

It was a pleasure and an honor to work with Joe helping him put on the great Chicago Historic Races from the early 1980's until the last one. He was a true sportsman who cared about his participant's enjoyment, not necessarily who won the race.
Joe's thousands of racing friends made over the 17 years of CHR at Road America and the CHR 2000 at Gingerman will remember him whenever great vintage events are the subject of our "bench racing."

You went way too soon my friend. ...

My wife and I send our sympathy to the family of Joseph Marchetti. I have many ties to the Como Inn as that is where my parents had their wedding reception in May of 1936 and for a time we lived in an apartment building on what eventually became the Como Inn parking lot. For almost all of my life, the Como Inn was my family's favorite eating site for very special events. The last such was our daughter's wedding reception in March of 1991. Closing the restaurant broke quite a few hearts in...

Our most heartfelt sympathies to Mrs. Marchetti and the rest of your family. My husband and I were married last October, and we had the most beautiful, lavish reception at the Galleria Marchetti. Mr. Marchetti worked with us so we were able to afford to have the wedding of our dreams in the beautiful galleria. He was a kind and generous man and we will always remember him fondly.

Thank you for all of your gracious hospitality and the memories connected your Chicago Historic Races. God speed in your final journey.
