Joe was a true gentlemen...smart, kind, compassionate with the dashing good looks and debonair aura of Cary Grant. Joe's humor and wit are legendary. His love of family and loyalty to friends made him such a cherished soul. He will be missed so much. A toast to you, Joe---"Here's Looking At You Kid".

Joe Markowitz was kind and caring gentleman. He was the real deal, a true friend with compassion and the ability to light up all that he touched. He will be saddenly missed by all. Our deepest sympathies to the Markowitz family knowing that he is now with so many of his friends who have let this life.

Tony Goldenberg will always remember Joe Markowitz. Rest well Joe.

I was very sad to hear of Joe's passing. There were times when Joe and I would speak about having "soul" - a quality that Joe held in high regard. Although not always easy to define, I always agreed with him as to the importance of this quality in one's life. Joe for sure had soul and embraced life to the fullest. He was a friend at some very tough times in my life. He will be missed.
